Falkland Isles 1982 - HMS Liverpool - Special Delivery

I was fortunate enough to join the ship’s flight, ‘Lively Lady’, to take  the Christmas Mail round to the Islanders in some of the more remote locations on Christmas Eve 1982.  We flew all over both North and South Islands often landing in their gardens!  We were always received with open arms , welcomed into their households and plied with Christmas Cheer! The landscape over the middle of the Islands appeared very barren from the air - but beautiful nonetheless
