Falkland Isles 1982 - HMS Liverpool - Our Xmas Day

We had been on patrol in the ‘Hamlets’, a designated patrol area in the FIPZ (Falkland Islands Protection Zone), on the Western side of the Falklands over the Christmas period. As this necessitated being closed up in Defence Watches, we were unable to celebrate in the normal Naval way. The ship was stood down for two days on 31st December and we anchored in Albermarle Harbour for our own Christmas Day celebrations.  It wasn’t local Turkey!!
